Yes, we put up all the lights ourselves.
It's around 100-125 hours of work to put up all the Christmas decorations. The work spans 3 weekends.
We rent a drone to hang the lights in the tall trees. Scroll down to watch the video. The DJI Mavic Pro 3 is built to carry a payload. We attach the lights, fly it in place, and then use a device to detach the lights from the drone. This is a safe and fast way to hang the lights!
Cycling through 3 batteries, you can fly the drone with a payload all day long.
They pull down easily from the ground.
The display has it's own power. An electrician has measured the display consuming around 70 amps, which is enough power for a small, single family home.
The display uses 20 outlets across separate 10 receptacles.
Everything runs through WiFi controlled smart home outdoor plugs. This allows us to control everything by phone and set automations to turn everything on and off each night.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and the Osborne Family Christmas Lights at Disney are the inspiration behind this display.
We support the funds, like Baldwin Park Cares, at 4 local schools in the area. 100% of the money goes to kids that NEED basic items like food, clothes, safety gear, etc.
For every dollar you donate, we add three to it and make the funds available to the school funds when they need them throughout the calendar year.
We run the snow machine on most weekends after Thanksgiving (Fri-Sun).
Technically, it's a sleigh. A portable power bank, easily found on Amazon, will power LED lights for 1-3 hours. Then, you can use the power bank for other tasks throughout the year.
